News - Cavner Plane Crash
Stacie, Preston, and Hudson's Story
The Cavner family resides on Lake Clark, Alaska. On a return flight, the family along with friend, Rachel Zientek, took off from Merrill Field in Anchorage, Alaska, the evening of Tuesday, June 1, when their plane went down and caught fire. A "bunch of citizens" rushed to the site and pulled them from the wreckage, but as the plane caught fire it became too intense for them to save Myles Cavner. Myles was 4 years old. Paramedics initially treated them at the scene and then rushed them to local hospitals. Rachel was then rushed to Harborview Burn Center in Seattle, WA and the Cavner family was rushed to the Oregon Burn Center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, OR.
